The fire company was dispatched for a structure fire on Saturday November 18th 2006 around 0812hrs at building D Firmenich. A bulk of the fire was knocked down prior to the arrival of incoming units. Chief 49 arrived on location with nothing showing. The assignment was upgrade to additional units because the fire was inside the insulation wrapping around the pipes leading to the incinerator. The location of the fire on an elevated platform approximately 2 stories off the ground and tight spaces to work in made it difficult for firefighters to get a handle on it. All hands were working off of the roof and elevated platform removing the insulation around the piping and knocking down any fire created from overhaul. Eventually the assignment was upgraded to the first full alarm. Units remained on scene for a while removing all insulation and checking for extension. On Saturday morning October 28th 2006 at approx. 1101 hrs the fire company was dispatched to an MVA Plainsboro Road at the connector. Engine 49-1 arrived on location and reported a 2 car MVA 1 car with heavy side intrusion. There was 1 occupant moderatly entraped and all hands working removing door and roof of vehicle. Power was secured to the vehicle and units remained on scene until vehicles were towed. Units that responded were Deputy 49 Engine 49-1 Engine 66 PPPL Rescue 49 Engine 49-3 Utility 49 and the Plainsboro Rescue Squad.
In the evening of Tuesday November 7th 2006 at approx 1943 hrs the fire department was dispatched for a reported kitchen fire at 1601 Quail Ridge Apartments. The police were on scene and reported a kitchen fire. The chief arrived and reported 2 story multi family nothing showing. The fire was out prior to the arrival of responding units but the chief reported scorching along the wall. Crews checked the apartment with a thermal imaging camera and opened up the walls and found no extension. The apartment was turned over to Quail Ridge maintenance and units cleared the scene. Units that responded Chief 49 Squrt 49Tower 49 Engine 49-3 Engine 49-1 Utility 49 and the Plainsboro Rescue Squad.
The fire company was dispatched for an initial report 2 car MVA on October 20 2006 with entrapment and vehicle on fire. The accident was at intersection of Grovers Mill Rd and Cranbury Neck. Chief 43 reported 2 car MVA 1 car on its side with entrapment. Chief 43 then gave another update that the fire had been put out 2 still inside the vehicle. Engine 49-1 arrived on location and went to work stretching a line for safety and going into service with the Jaws Of Life. All hands were working securing power to both vehicles getting them stabilized and assisting EMS with extrication. Fire units remained on scene to provide lighting for police to complete their accident investigation and for both vehicles to be towed. Units that responded were Engine 49-1 Rescue 49 Chief 49 Engine 66 PPPL Engine 49-3 Plainsboro Rescue Squad and Medics.
The fire company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident Rt.1 North just before Plainsboro Road on Friday September 15th 2006. The call came in around 1433hrs and units responded with Engine 49-1 and Rescue 49. Engine 49-1 arrived on location to find a single vehicle that struck a utility pole. Lt. 49 had command and he held the assignment to Engine 49-1. Crews secured the battery to the vehicle and waited for it to be removed. The driver of the vehicle was transported by Plainsboro Rescue Squad to Princeton Medical Center.
