It is with deep regret that the Plainsboro Fire Company and the Board of Commissioners of Plainsboro Fire District No. 1 announce the passing of Ken Wilson, a former Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and a former Chief and Life Member of the Plainsboro Fire Company.
Ken joined the fire company in its first year of operation, following in the footsteps of his father, Elmer Wilson, who also served as fire chief. With the exception of his service in Vietnam, he was an active responding firefighter until he and his wife, Kathy, moved to Louisiana many years ago to be closer to thier daughters and grandchildren.
Ken served as chief of the fire company in 1988 and 1989 and was the first chairman of the Board of Commissioners when Plainsboro Fire District No. 1 was formed.
He was a skilled craftsman, working in the HVAC shop at Princeton University for many years. He was also a talented softball player and active in many leagues in the Plainsboro area.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The members of the Plainsboro Fire Company and the Board of Commissioners are grateful for his many contributions to the fire service and to each of us personally.
Funeral services will be held Friday in Louisiana.
Rest easy, Brother. We’ll miss you, Ken.
