The fire company was dispatched for a structure fire on Saturday November 18th 2006 around 0812hrs at building D Firmenich. A bulk of the fire was knocked down prior to the arrival of incoming units. Chief 49 arrived on location with nothing showing. The assignment was upgrade to additional units because the fire was inside the insulation wrapping around the pipes leading to the incinerator. The location of the fire on an elevated platform approximately 2 stories off the ground and tight spaces to work in made it difficult for firefighters to get a handle on it. All hands were working off of the roof and elevated platform removing the insulation around the piping and knocking down any fire created from overhaul. Eventually the assignment was upgraded to the first full alarm. Units remained on scene for a while removing all insulation and checking for extension. Units that responded were Chief 49 Tower 49 Engine 49-3 Squrt 49 Engine 49-1 Rescue 49 Utility 49 Engine 66 PPPL Tower 57 FAST Team Applegarth Engine 24 Kingston Tower 44 Princeton Junction Engine 48-3 Cranbury and the Plainsboro Rescue Squad.
