Full Scale Twp-wide Drill – Plainsboro Preserve
On February, 28 at 1900 hrs, Plainsboro Township emergency services conducted a full scale Twp-wide exercise at the Plainsboro Nature Preserve. The exercise involved a hunter who shot himself with a bow and arrow with an impalement through his foot into the tree stand. The victim was 20ft+ in the air and hidden in the woods at an unknown location.
Functions:
-Locating Victim with multiple brush trucks/ off road vehicles (Plainsboro, Princeton, West Windsor, and Monmouth Jct) and Search And Rescue Groups. (GRID search)
-Conducting “stop the bleed” aid with tourniquets.
-Unified Command
-Wild-land Tech. Rescue from 20’+ tree stand, utilizing mechanical advantages.
-Patient stabilization and Off-road patient transport to an Ambulance.
Great combined efforts by Plainsboro Station 49, Plainsboro PD & OEM, Plainsboro CERT, Rangers, Plainsboro Rescue Squad, and mutual aid!!!!
